Instant Curb Appeal: Just Add Water

Window Boxes Elevate Outdoor Style

Nothing turns a house into a home faster than window boxes. These floating gardens are like custom window treatments for the exterior. They reflect your personal style and tie together all the decor elements of your outdoor space (door, shutters, siding, windows). Most importantly, they signal to neighbors and passers-by that this home is loved.

Thanks to the myriad size, stain color, and flower choices, it’s easy to make your window boxes unique and project your preferred style whether it’s refined, romantic, or playful. Even on a small budget, you can make this project happen in no time. This simple box took a few days to build and stain. Filled with pink begonias and purple cox’s comb, it makes a playful statement against the blue brick exterior.

For more inspiration, explore other color combos. The contrast of the blue hydrangeas and yellow pansies with the box stained in Pocono Pine create the romance with this display.

In this one, the romance comes from the scale of the window box (stained in White) and the burgeoning petunias and overflowing ivy.

Black against red brick always indicates refinement but the mix of pink and white blooms in the window box stained in Mystic Black adds a dash of playfulness and draws the eye.

Window boxes may be off the ground but they’re not out of reach. Get started on your own today.
