Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible I followed all prep directions. This paint/stain started peeling on part of my deck the first year. Now after 3 years I have to pressure wash and start over. It will not be with this product. It was very expensive and does not work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing We bought this stain and sealant after it was recommended at the store. We stained our deck the first year after it was seasoned with two coats and had to restrain it again last year which is the second year. We are coming up on the third year and it needs done again there is actually stops where you can see the natural wood coming through. It looks horrible and this 6 year protection is a joke. I will definitely be using a different product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from extremly disappointed I have used Olympic Maximum stain on 2 decks/porches for years. I had a new deck built in 2016. Stained it that fall & all was well for a year, but then the winter of 2017-18 the stain started coming off. Cleaned & restained the whole deck in fall 2017, and did a 2nd coat after 30 days, and it didn't even last 6 months! And it's very slippery. I've never had an issue on my other decks & they are 20+ years old & have been restained maybe every 5 years with no issue. What happened to this product?? It used to be great. My other decks are due to be restained but now I don't think I should do them & ruin what have been beautiful for years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it. Sanded and stained my back deck railing with this product after removing the horrible Timber oil. It has held up nicely, so I am redoing my front porch with it. It does need some touch up after our harsh winters, but so much easier and better looking than what we’ve used.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed! Purchased and added in 2013 after adding onto an existing deck, so it would match. Reapplied 2017 to faded boards. End of summer 2018 rotten boards everywhere! A contractor informed me another Brand has class action lawsuit for stain+sealant product. Wish I had researched before!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not even last a year We stained our deck last summer and now 10 months later we have several places where the stain has already come up off of our deck. We chose to pay more for a "better" stain and longer protection and feel we wasted a ton of time and money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Held up on our wood fence for years We Painted our fence 6 years ago in Beige grey semi-transparent . We enclosed almost an acre on 3 sides. It has held up beautifully here the the Florida wet heat and torrential rain storms.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful!!! I got 3 buckets of the same stain and now I have a 3 toned gazebo..... please tell me why you guys did that! Entire week of work and now I have to redo the entire thing. So much for “canyon brown”, just look at the difference on the buckets. I would like for Olympic maximum to contact me about this!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great I bought this from Lowes. I first with a small can of the redwood semi transparent. I was able to drain my very small side porch with 3 coats. I didn't need 3 but because I had about a quarter of the can left I did the 3rd. It's been about a month and its holding up wonderfully. I ended up purchasing a full gallon and used it on some shutters and other outside projects. Absolutely love it. Kinda sad Lowes isn't advertising it like they do Valspar.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Should have read all the reviews. I have the same results as the rest with one star rating. Not even a complete year. Took my daughter and I three days to cover our huge patio. Just one spot on our patio. Product does not adhere to deck.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not last! My deck was power washed thoroughly, then stained with 5 gals of this product in late summer, 2017. When winter was over, and we could actually see what the deck looked like, it was apparent the stain was coming off then. It's now June 2018, and the photos show what it looks like at present. This is definitely NOT a six year product! I am not satisfied at all, and I would like my money back since I now have to start over. I will be choosing a different product this time.

I did the deck over in 2017, and go figure after the winter my deck is in need again. The stain doesn't hold for more than a season.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t waste your time or money! Not impressed! Looks good for one year. After that, any year after that is subject to restraining. Don’t wast your money buying the 6year product, I bought and applied two years ago and needs to be redone. The nice thing is when you call customer service to see about their “ warranty” they are nice enough to you you a lesson on how to stain a deck and wish you luck next time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely disappointing product Last June, I diligently cleaned my deck using Olympic deck cleaner and then applied Olympic’s Maximum protection semi-transparent stain following the instructions on the can. Sadly, the product lasted far shorter than the 6 years stated on the can, about 8 months! Now I have peeling stain and bare areas all over my deck. It’s going to take hours to strip off this peeling mess and put on another product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Decks on 126 Homes - terrible result Our community used Olympic Maximum Naturaltone Cedar Semi transparent stain on the decks of 126 homes near Lake Harmony, PA. Front, rear and side decks. Product durability on the decks was terrible. Stain was coming off in 5 months. PPG made us go through our contractor and property manager and we are still waiting for technical advice on what alternative product to use and warranty claim decision. WAITING MONTHS FOR RESOLUTION

Rated 1 out of 5 by from disappointing I own a construction company that's been doing business for 39 years. We used this product on a cedar deck and it failed very quickly. We sanded all of the new cedar boards before we applied the stain. It performs well where it isn't exposed to sunlight, but horribly when out in the open. I'm left holding the price to re-finish or replace my client's deck and I don't know what product would work.
