Area Preparation

Remove all loose, peeling paint, dirt, mildew, grease and any other surface contaminants. Putty all holes and caulk all open seams. Sand all glossy, rough and patched surfaces.

WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust or fumes. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST OR FUMES CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a properly fitted NIOSH-approved respirator and prevent skin contact to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting USEPA National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead. Follow these instructions to control exposure to other hazardous substances that may be released during surface preparation.

Application

Stir thoroughly and apply with a high-quality brush, roller or paint pad or by spray equipment. When using more than one container of the same color, intermix to ensure color uniformity. No thinning is usually required. If needed, add up to ¼ pint (118 milliliters) of water per gallon (3.78 liters).

Application Temperature

Apply paint only when air, product and surface temperatures are between 50°F (10°C) and 90°F (32°C).

Drying Time

Normally dries in one hour at 77°F (25°C).

Cleanup

Clean tools and hands with warm, soapy water. Wait at least 14 days after painting before cleaning the surface with a nonabrasive, mild cleanser.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from surprised me for sure I've been a painter handyman for a long while now, and this is the first time using this paint on a bathroom with a little darker walls already and covering with a med grey new color! It spread and covered smooth and just right one coat not even half gallon for the job on a 16×7 bathroom. I'm pretty impressed for sure

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful paint Purchased the Olympic Assure in a satin finish for a cabinet. The cabinet was built of MDF Board simply for paint application. I’m using a 1/2” nap purdy roller for a nice clean finish. However, I of course noticed that the first coat went on quite light, but figured I’d let the magic happen in the second coat..........nope. Started painting my second coat and could very visibly still see my corner that I had brushed in. After one dunk with the roller, I decided to hand it up and hopeful Lowe’s will return it. It’s simply not good paint.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from bathroom nightmare painted the bathroom in my rental house with a roller and brush. Paint peeled first time moisture hit it. I worked for 2 days on this and it looks like YUK. Maybe I used the wrong paint. Like never again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flat is not flat - its a satin sheen We just returned five gallons of this Olympic Assure Paint (Knightsbridge) because after painting we found that the expected flat paint had a glossy/satin sheen to it. We ordered it in a flat base because we wanted it to have no sheen. Flat. So we returned the 5 buckets to Lowes and got a new batch of 5 Gallons. Turns out these new buckets also have a sheen to them. Its not even a slight sheen. Its a definite satin sheen thats reflects alot of light - not even close to a flat paint that we expected. So now back to Lowes again to try a different brand or something. Very aggravating. If its labeled Flat it should be Flat ! I am not sure if its all the extra ingredients Olympic added for durability and easy clean up ?? Maybe the dark base tints have a sheen to them ??

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible paint This paint was worse that the cheapest primer. The paint was thick, sticky and applied poorly (and yes, I mixed it well with a drill/stirrer). I don't know if I got a bad batch but after 1 coat in a closet, it wasn't like I had even painted at all. I threw the rest of the can away....and there was over half left. We all hate painting, this made me hate painting even more!
